Case Study #23

Ok this is the sixth and final day of the study and I have a lot to report.

On the eve of the first day of my research I happened upon a rarely seen priceless document! I had just barely started my investigation when I somehow stumbled upon the Secret Agent (whom I was studying) - his secret documents. Of course they were encrypted and I only had a few seconds to look them over before he came back but luckily I saw enough! I was already so far ahead on my research and it was SO VERY HELPFUL because now I could be one step ahead of this Agent as well as my two colleagues who were also on this research mission with me. After such a lucky break of course there was no new research I could attain until the subject began his travel. Me and one other colleague followed him, the other colleague would follow the next day in case we were compromised. Luckily we made it just find to his secret hideout; a cabin deep in the woods. Then we watched and waited. After waiting for a long time me and my colleague starting occupying our time in a more entertaining fashion, so we read some books, played games like connect four, chutes and ladders, candyland, and to feel more adult we played gin with some face-cards I happened to have. Finally the subject did something, but to our chagrin all he did was go fishing. So we started playing scrabble on our handheld devices until the subject returned. We were somewhat shocked to see the agent return with nothing from such a long fishing trip but it was just a passing thought. Until and hour later he returned again to go fish. This we found suspicious so we followed him. The trail to the fishing spot was treacherous, I don't know how we survived but somehow we did. Unfortunately we found that this "fishing trip" was all a clever trick and a place were he would exchange his encrypted secret documents with a superior agent. I decided that before we moved in to intercept the documents we should wait for our other colleague to arrive. She finally arrived on the fourth of July. This was the perfect opportunity to steal the documents. We knew that the agent's tradition would be to go in town to see a movie, then have a meal at Macky's Grill, and then proceed to watching the firework display from a balcony, as has been done for several years. I assigned my second in command to tail him and report back to me if he did anything out of the ordinary, while me and my other colleague searched his hideout for the rest of the secret documents. All was going according to plan until he broke his tradition. Instead of going to the movie he went to Scoops, a trendy gossip spot to eat ice cream, as well as being an internet cafe`. This was suspicious. Why would he go to an internet cafe`? Did he know we were following him? Was he contacting someone? It seemed too risky so we left his hideout and waited. Then we found out he simply ate some ice-cream and played some Jenga. That didn't seem suspicious so we continued our search of the hideout, and we heard that he did in fact enter the movie theater. That was a good sign. We looked about the hideout and found nothing. The only thing suspicious were the two small black fans that seemed to appear out of nowhere and looked out of place. Then we heard from our colleague that he wasn't going to Macky's Grill. I froze in place, hoping he wouldn't come back to the cabin, but it appeared that he instead went to Chile's. Me and my colleague were sweating. What did this mean? Breaking tradition? it had to be a sign? so we hurried as fast as we could to find a hiding place for the documents. The bathroom of course!!! that's were they were. I grabbed the few documents that were left but the encryption was to hard to follow. ABBA111111 and then Terriaki Chicken, Spaghetti, Hamburgers, I didn't understand, were they supposed to be codes? We didn't have time to try and solve them so we grabbed them and dashed out of there. Now that we're back we have submitted the documents to our encryption team and they are currently trying to crack it. I hope they find important information, I wouldn't want all that hard work to be wasted.
More information to come
